How to attract people to join your army with the looks of your blog

Riotors edit: Sure, I need an editing color now. Also Dee, CPSS won the battle against CPGA. http://cpssworld.wordpress.com. We are putting up pictures taken.

ATM Edit: Riotors this color is my editing color. Dee, I think we need to go over editing colors again. Can I have this color. I’ve had it forever.

Riotors edit: That’s great. That will help many many smaller armies out. I have seen many armies that are really messy on there websites. Also a custom header on some wordpress themes help make an army look more active. http://cpssworld.wordpress.com

Speed, I deleted your post, look at Godplaya’s post below the post below this one. There are some things you missed while you were on vacation and they were all about bots. Some of them have already hacked us and Club Penguin itself. Once again, there is no way to fight back ithout knowing how to in the first place. Come to chat and I’ll explain.

Well.. Hi everyone. It’s Dee again! I just came from a band’s gig. My fingers are a bit tired right now.

Ok, I wanted to help out everyone with their armies. How to take care of it, how to recruit. Etc. Well, if you want more soldiers, you’re going to have to have a decent website.

  1. Why do I need a good website?
  • Having well kept websites attracts more people because, most people, like to see everything in order. The websites layout, defines the army. It may not define the whole army but it pretty much will show your colors. If the site is messy, you’re probably a not-so-active (which most people don’t like), uneducated, and, well, messy army. If your website is like this, you should change it.

2. What do you mean by if your website is like this?

  • All pages start with a lower case letter. Ex. awards, uniform. All words and titles should start with a Upper Case letter!
  • Some titles and words have two or more capitals in them making a word look like this Ex. BAnd. Only the letter B should be capitalized. Look around your site and check out if you have any of these mistakes. They are often easy to miss.
  • The abbreviation of your army is not all capitalized. Some armies have banners that state the abbreviation of their army. Ex. CPUN. It should not be Cpun. Unless that’s your style, don’t do it if your site is already to messy.
  • SPELLING, GRAMMAR, PUNCTUATION.
  • All posts should have good, appropriate titles and 99% of them should be full-length posts – not five sentences.
  • On your chat (and site, if you have CSS), try to avoid the repeating pictures that’s on the ACP and Nachos chat. It looks unattractive, and is an eyesore.
  • Don’t choose an inappropriate theme – some WordPress themes are more suited to personal blogs than community sites.

3. How do I get more comments on my posts?

  • When someone views your website, they look at the posts, the size of the army, they look around, and they look at the number of comments on each post.
  • If they see that most posts only have Leave a Comment written on it, they might as well Leave the Site.
  • Make interesting posts!
  • Once again, make sure you have good grammar on your post. When someone looks at the website, they’ll notice your ability to write well and might join you.
  • Organisation is important! I’ve heard plenty of stories of how people joined ACP/Nachos because of their well organised pages.
  • Make it look like you are having fun! Nobody wants to join an army where things seem boring.
  • If you’re just starting out, you should have the website ready first. Get everything polished, SPELLING, GRAMMAR, PUNCTUATION. Chatspeak must be avoided. Make sure you make a welcome post so that when your first wave of recruits come in, they have the welcome post to read. The default ‘Hello World’ is definitely not sufficient for this! Also, right after making the post, recruit immediately. If you recruit days after you made the post, they’ll see the date of your post and think you are an inactive army. Always be ready.

All you have to do is have a good, decent site that any leader would be able to read. Put some widgets to fill up the blank sides of your blogs.

  • Calendar
  • Recent Comments
  • Recent Posts
  • Top Posts
  • CPUN Badge 😉
  • Search (When you have been around for a few months)
  • Archives (When you have been around for a few months)
  • Meta
  • Text Widgets (Write anything you want in them like what I do in the CPUN site. Add small notes and reminders or even quotes!)
  • Fill up the sidebars!

So I want you all to take a look at your websites and see anything you can improve. This should be done at least weekly. Polish and update your website as much as you can.

General, can you help me add the latest CPUN members to the page? There’s only a few anyway. Please add their links to the CPUN Members blogroll. I just don’t have the time right now. Sorry if I’ve taken your time. 😦

No problem Alighf. Welcome. You too Soccer. 😉
